There’s no magic formula for getting a state flag retired. It usually begins with a citizen(s) who begins agitating for a new state flag. If enough fellow citizens support the cause, legislators may eventually feel compelled to act.
It’s a splendid example of grassroots activism.
Sometimes the pressure comes from outside. The best example is probably the national Confederate symbols witch-hunt, which is perpetuated by the corporate media.
However, there is currently virtually no criticism of Washington State’s flag, either within or outside Washington. It’s a dirty little secret, like the late Seattle pedophile judge, Gary Little.
On top of that, Washington’s government and media are extraordinarily arrogant and corrupt. Merely getting an effort to adopt a new state flag publicized in Washington is a Herculean task.
So when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
This website is ground zero for our search for an inspirational new state flag.
The best thing you can do is help spread the word. Tell your friends about this website. Wear T-shirts or caps sporting a new Washington flag.
If you really want to make your voice heard, purchase an actual flag, run it up a flagpole and send me a nice photograph of it. I would like to have photos of Washington flag proposals flying over various communities and regions.
A photo of a flag with Mt. Rainier in the background would be awesome.
If you have other designs in mind, please share. You can create your own website, and we can exchange links.
If you bump into someone who participated in the protests and riots that swept the nation after the cold-blooded murder of George Floyd, ask them what they think about the slave owner on Washington’s state flag. We aren’t talking political correctness here.
If corrupt public officials and media whores slam the door in our faces, we can show our defiance by burning George Washington and flying our own flags instead.
Think of it as a revolution without bloodshed. 😉
